Terms
Last updated: October 30, 2025
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all professional services, programs, and products provided by Harbor (“we,” “us,” or “our”) to our clients (“you” or “client”).
By booking, purchasing, or participating in any Harbor service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms in full.
1. Project Initiation
The start of any Harbor engagement requires:
A written approval of the Project Outline that defines the expectations, deliverables, and boundaries of the service.
Initial payment, either in full or the first non-refundable installment of an agreed payment plan.
Information or materials required to begin the work (e.g., home access details, files).
2. Payments
Details on billing, late fees, and recurring charges are outlined in our Payment Policy.
3. Availability
We value balance, so we maintain healthy boundaries to ensure quality, presence, and care during all sessions. Our standard hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm PT.
Sessions and calls must be booked in advance by selecting a time on our calendar.
After-hours communication and meetings are by appointment only.
Messages received outside business hours will be answered the next business day.
4. Timeliness & Client Responsibilities
Our work is collaborative and relies on timely communication.
Client-Provided Information. You must provide all necessary materials, documents, or feedback by the agreed start date. Delays in providing information may shift your project timeline and priority.
Feedback Deadlines. If feedback or approval is not received within 10 business days, the work will be considered approved by default. Later changes may incur additional fees.
Extended Silence. If more than 30 days pass without communication from you, Harbor may consider the engagement complete and invoice for completed work.
5. Scope of Engagement
Each Harbor service includes only the deliverables defined in your Project Outline or invoice. Additional services or custom requests outside that scope require a separate estimate and invoice. Harbor reserves the right to determine whether new requests fall within or beyond the original scope.
6. Safety & Access
For in-home or on-site services, clients must ensure a safe, respectful, and accessible environment. Harbor reserves the right to refuse entry, pause, or end a session if conditions are unsafe, unsanitary, or inappropriate. Our Cancellation fee remains applicable in such cases (see Cancellation Policy).
7. Cancellations
Details on cancellations, rescheduled sessions, and transfers are outlined in our Cancellation Policy.
9. Intellectual Property & Use of Materials
All materials, templates, workbooks, systems, and digital tools provided by Harbor remain our intellectual property and are licensed for your personal use only.
You may not share, copy, or redistribute Harbor materials without written permission.
Upon full payment, you are granted a non-exclusive, personal license to use the provided materials for your own household or estate planning purposes.
10. Portfolio & Educational Use
Harbor may, with your written consent, share anonymized stories, visuals, or before-and-after examples of projects for educational or promotional use. No identifying details will ever be disclosed without explicit client approval.
11. Confidentiality
Harbor respects the sensitivity of your personal, financial, and emotional information and as taken precautionary steps to protect your privacy. All details shared with us are treated as strictly confidential and will only be disclosed:
To trusted contractors working under confidentiality agreements, or
As required by law.
See our Privacy Policy for more information on data storage and protection.
12. Third-Party Vendors
Harbor may recommend or connect clients with third-party services (e.g., shredding companies, storage providers, attorneys, or emergency suppliers). We cannot be held liable for their performance, fees, or outcomes. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting all third-party terms before engaging their services.
14. Refunds
All payments are non-refundable in accordance with our Refund Policy. We encourage open communication if challenges arise. Our team is committed to helping you find a positive path forward.
15. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate services in writing at any time.
If the client terminates early, all payments made remain non-refundable, and any unpaid work completed to date will be invoiced.
Harbor reserves the right to end services if payment obligations are unmet, communication ceases, or mutual respect is compromised.
In all cases, we will make reasonable efforts to ensure a smooth and professional transition or closure.
16. Mutual Respect & Communication
We value honesty, patience, and empathy in every interaction. Harbor promises to treat each client with professionalism and care — and expects the same in return. Disrespectful, aggressive, or manipulative behavior toward Harbor staff will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of services without refund.
17. Quality, Outcomes & Limitations
Harbor strives for excellence, but results depend on the client’s participation and follow-through. We cannot guarantee specific emotional, organizational, or financial outcomes. As stated in our Disclaimer, our services are supportive and educational in nature and do not replace legal, financial, or medical advice.
18. Emotional Support Disclaimer
Our services are designed to provide education, organization, and emotional support around end-of-life and home-preparedness topics. As stated in our Disclaimer, Harbor is not a licensed therapy, legal, or medical practice, and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or legal counsel. We may recommend licensed professionals when appropriate.
19. Force Majeure
Harbor is not liable for delays or cancellations resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including illness, weather, natural disasters, or technology outages. In such cases, sessions may be rescheduled without penalty.
20. Refusal of Service
Harbor reserves the right to decline or discontinue projects that conflict with our ethics of safety, compassion, and integrity. This includes services promoting harm, discrimination, or exploitation. All non-refundable payments will remain as stated in the Refund Policy.
21. Changes to Terms
Harbor reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Revisions will apply prospectively and will not affect ongoing projects initiated under prior versions. We believe in transparency and will never apply unexpected changes retroactively.
By booking, purchasing, or participating in any Harbor service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms in full.
